The Train Don’t Stop Here No More
They came to start a new life across the plains
They travelled to Renoun got there by train
To build a better life they worked the land
George Edward and the Seed Brothers they had a plan
But the land dried up and so did the rain
There was nothing left to sow just the pain
Hunger and strife and a family to feed
They left it all behind it wasn’t meant to be
Sometimes you just don’t hear the knock on the door
And the train don’t stop it don’t stop here no more
There was a living to be made in the big city
So the family headed east to claim their destiny
With a little blind faith Grampa tried a brand new game
When it was time to play his cards he threw them in vain
Not everyone you meet walks a straight line
And when you’ve learned the hard way It still hurts every time
Sometimes you just don’t hear the knock on the door
And the train don’t stop it don’t stop here no more
Sometimes you can’t see the writing on the wall
It’s not because you can’t read that you’re still gonna fall
Sometimes you just don’t hear the knock on the door
And the train don’t stop it don’t stop here no more

Burning Bridges

Burning Bridges
Lost and losing I took to cruising Up the Alaska Highway
Found me a town and a girl who said she’d love me
If I promised I’d stay
Months flew on by as I worked that grader
Dreaming of a life I could find
Waves of blue and white sandy beaches,
Happy hour 'til closing time
A crooked frame never hangs straight
Some stains you can't wash away
A rolling stone never reaches the top
I can't quit these roaming blues,
A year had rolled on, things were getting crazy, my gal was in a
motherly way
But In deep my heart crept that old familiar darkness
I knew I’d be going to stray
One dark cold night working the graveyard
I stood on that very same road
Flagged down a semi climbed up on in
I left town and never looked back
This hole in my heart never gonna heal,
If you see me you best stay away
The pain I feel I keep giving back
I don't know any other way
(Still)Lost and losing somewhere down south
Hurt a man bad for something he said
Now I'm a running scared from the law
Burning bridges along the way

The Vow

The Vow
When you said I do I said I will (too)
Till death do us part I believed you (I trusted in you)
You stood by my side when I was lost
Through thick and through thin no matter the cost
We planted the seeds and watched them grow
Tended the garden reaped what we had sown
Ate from the harvest and filled our stores
In times of plenty and in times of no more
We’ve been through the hard times and we’ve walked a thin line
Through the hills and the valleys and the mountains we climbed
Travelled the roads and weathered the storms
On the ties that bind that time has made strong
They say the grass is greener on the other side
And when you get there it is not what you find
A mountain of sand and a pillar of clay
Are never enough when the storm comes your way
And sometimes the strong must carry the weak
And vows mean much more than words can ever speak
And as we walk hand in hand down the long winding road
We are what we seek and nothing more
The root is going to die if its pulled from the ground
A leaf will not live when it falls from the tree
An eagle can’t soar if it flies one wing
If the covenant is broken give back the ring

Driving On
Some say it’s better to have loved
Than never loved at all
When you lose that love there is a loss
That you might not reclaim
As time goes by you bare the hurt
You lock it up inside
Somehow you fear that sacred love
You may never find
You’re driving on
You’re just driving on
You keep driving on
Driving on
It’s so very hard to believe
That love was not in vain
And every new love that you find
Still has that very name
You tell yourself that the pain
Should not be relived
Every now and then it glares at you
Like headlights in the rain
You’re driving on
You’re just driving on
You keep driving on
Driving on
The storm has passed and the road ahead
Seems brighter than today
Rays of light shine through the clouds
And lighten up the day
Time moves on and you learn
In love there is no blame
And all the love that you had made
Cannot be washed away

Slow Train

Slow Train
Working everyday got a roof
What I make aint enough
I’m not a commie fella
But I’m always in the red
Do what I gotta do
The tables been turned for a guy like me
I didn’t see it coming
I don’t know
That slow train it’s already here
Now there’s no turning back too late for that
Can’t see up ahead my faith is weaning
It’s getting kind of thin
The race was over before I could begin
Dammed if you do be dammed if you don’t
The line is simple you will or you won’t
I just don’t know
I didn’t see it coming
I didn’t know
You think you’re on the right track
You better move Don’t just stand there
You’re gonna get run over
You better build a fortress to lock yourself in
You will never see it coming
When the walls are caving in
You will never see it coming
I don’t know

The Bloody Light
You forgot to leave the light on
Can’t find my way home
You forgot to leave the light on
But I’m standing at my door
I swear I used to live here
But there ain’t nobody home
The keys don’t fit the lock
There’s chains around my door
Why don’t you leave the light on
Hey just leave the light on
Why don’t you leave the light on
The bloody bloody light
The needle is in the haystack
The shot is in the dark
On the other side of Eden
The moon is getting dark
You’re lurking in the shadows
You disappear at night
Pretty hard to find you
Because you hide in-plain sight
The smell is in the air
It’s thicker than the mud
You got me running scared
I’m drowning in the flood
Ch
You’re gathering for the feast
But where’s my invitation (You forgot)
The place is overcrowded
Its bursting at the seams
The party’s almost over
The lights are getting dim
All the clatter and the noise
My skin is getting kind of thin

Just Keep Digging Oh Joshua
Joshua fought the battle of Jericho Jericho Jericho
Joshua fought the batte of Jericho and the walls came a tumblin down
Well it’s been said so many times
No good thing will ever die
A lot of good men they died in vain
What they left behind nobody could claim
Nothing more but the truth is stranger
Than any fiction that bares your name
What must be done you won’t live it down
Let it be told when if comes around
Chorous
Just keep digging in the ground
Like Jericho the walls will come down
No good fight ever dies in vain
Oh Joshua I call your name
The Lord done old Joshua do just what I say
Walk around the city seven times and the walls will crumble away
If you only fight the battles you know you will win
You might as well dig your grave before you begin
You’ll never move a mountain if you don’t believe
Say your prayers it’s time to leave
Learn to live with what you can’t rise above
Or right that wrong before you’re done
You keep chasing what you been running from
What you fear keeps you on the run

Running With Blues
You can wallow in your pity
Drown in your misery
You can fill your mind with envy
Let sorrow be your destiny
When the rope tightening around your neck
You aint got much to lose
What goes around don't come around
When you're running with the blues
The storm is never over
There's just an endless rain
You swear you hear the devil
Callin out your name
You're running for the shelter
The serpents on your tail
Somebody threw away the key
They locked you up in jail
There's no hiding from the blues
It keeps you on the run
On this side or the other
You are gonna pay for what you done
The rope is tightening round your neck
You ain't got much to lose
What goes around don't come around
When you're running with the blues
