First song off forth coming solo album Rivers Roads Deserts Storms, a song i wrote about my maternal grandparents Edward and Mary Seed. They came to Canada early 1900"s as homesteaders and settled in Renoun Saskatchewan

The Train Don’t Stop Here No More

They came to start a new life across the plains
They travelled to Renoun got there by train
To build a better life they worked the land
George Edward and the Seed Brothers they had a plan

But the land dried up and so did the rain
There was nothing left to sow just the pain
Hunger and strife and a family to feed
They left it all behind it wasn’t meant to be

Sometimes you just don’t hear the knock on the door
And the train don’t stop it don’t stop here no more

There was a living to be made in the big city
So the family headed east to claim their destiny
With a little blind faith Grampa tried a brand new game
When it was time to play his cards he threw them in vain

Not everyone you meet walks a straight line
And when you’ve learned the hard way It still hurts every time

Sometimes you just don’t hear the knock on the door
And the train don’t stop it don’t stop here no more

Sometimes you can’t see the writing on the wall
It’s not because you can’t read that you’re still gonna fall
